Abstract

Access control policies allow to control the flow of data between multiple subjects. For high security of data, it is essential that these policies be fit for purpose. In this article, we introduce the notion of "policies" and explain its many dimensions, such as consistency, completeness and minimality. We introduce a framework supporting the policy analysis regarding the introduced quality dimensions and elaborate the research challenges, including the analysis of for distributed systems at large scale, evaluation of policies and analysis of policies expressed in richer policies.

Review

The article looks quite complete, detailed and with good information. It is observed that the author carried out the investigation of him and that he talks about the benefits and against the times that access control can have. He also doesn't briefly talk about different policies related to access control.

I do not feel that the article has anything to improve; but it is always good to be able to argue the information with real cases. A follow-up article for this one would be to elaborate more on each of the mentioned policies and add others if they exist.

The article mentions that access policies are very important since they facilitate or hinder information depending on the situation. Information that is high-risk should have a much stricter policy than information that is not risky. I agree with the article as it proposes different policies for each situation.

In my point of view, I always thought that all information on the Internet should have a very high security measure (difficult access). After reading the article you can see that not all the information found on the internet must be difficult to access.
